DERMAL FILLERS

We are excited to offer Botox, Fillers & Latisse by Medical Aesthetics Injector Dr. Ciera Fox (ND)

Dr. Ciera Fox graduated on the Dean’s list, with honours, from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelors of Kinesiology. She then completed four years of medical training at Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, graduating in 2018. Since becoming a naturopathic physician Dr. Fox has become a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the British Columbia Naturopathic Association, and the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia. In 2017 she also became licensed to prescribe pharmaceutical medications in British Columbia.
Hyaluronic and other dermal fillers work by injecting a substance into the skin that plumps up the skin around the injection site. The skin around the injection site will have a resulting fuller and more youthful appearance.
Dr. Fox will be using Stylage for dermal fillers. Stylage® is the first hyaluronic acid (non-animal) dermal filler with local anaesthetic lidocaine (lignocaine) and an antioxidant, in the form of mannitol, all within one product. Mannitol is naturally present in nature in celery, olives and raspberries and helps to reduce the side effects of hyaluronic acid (redness and swelling). The presence of Mannitol, the “free radical scavenger”, limits the effects of free radicals on the dermis and on the product injected, thus reducing the risk of post-injection inflammation and preventing the hyauronic acid gels structure degradation by the body.
Dermal fillers can be used for a wide range of skin care concerns including: to smooth out marionette lines (the lines from the corner of the mouth down to the jaw line), nasolabial folds (smile lines), and parentheses (the lines that run from the base of the nostrils to the chin line), to enhance & restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples, to diminish vertical lip lines, to plump & enhance the lips, to smooth out a chin crease and to improve symmetry among facial features.
